Principal Operations Planning Officer

About the role

The Principal Operations Planning Officer will lead the planning and execution of military and contracted logistics at HQ and NATO Command Structure level. Working within a multinational team, the officer will support strategic objectives and ensure seamless logistics support for operations and exercises.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate logistics plans for NATO and national operations.
• Manage resource allocation, performance metrics, and policy development.
• Facilitate international meetings, present proposals, and secure stakeholder buy‑in.
• Analyse complex logistical challenges and deliver effective, risk‑mitigated solutions.
• Maintain liaison with the Support to Operations Directorate and ensure compliance with NATO processes.

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in military and contracted logistics planning at HQ/NATO level.
• Strong analytical ability and structured approach to complex tasks.
• Ability to work in a multinational environment, lead change, and manage pressure.
• Military staff officer training or equivalent qualification.
