Legal Counsel

About the role

The Legal Counsel will join the CANAL+ Group’s Luxembourg office, supporting the Benelux and Central Europe markets. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will provide in‑house legal advice across a range of commercial, regulatory and corporate matters, adopting a pragmatic, business‑focused approach.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts with operators, distributors, platforms and studios in the telecom and media sectors.
• Provide legal advice to CANAL+ Benelux & Central Europe management and to the wider Group on projects and campaigns.
• Manage litigation matters, including instructing external counsel and reviewing submissions.
• Maintain relationships with regulatory authorities and act as the primary contact for regulatory issues.
• Advise on consumer protection, trade practices, data protection, media law and copyright matters.
• Support handling of customer complaints and ensure corporate secretariat duties for BeNeLux and Swiss entities.
• Oversee filing, document retention and corporate record‑keeping.

Required profile

• Generalist legal background with a commercial mindset.
• Business‑oriented and able to tackle a wide variety of legal issues.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple jurisdictions (Dutch, Belgian and French‑speaking Swiss markets).
