System Engineer

About the role

CLdN IT Systems SA, part of CLdN (a logistics group founded in 1929 linking major European economic areas), is looking for a System Engineer to join its IT Support & Project Services team at its headquarters in Luxembourg. The role covers incident and problem management, infrastructure supervision, project and change management, and hands-on support of a multi-technology environment.

Key responsibilities

• Incident support on urgent or high-impact issues and investigation of root causes (incident and problem management)
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel to solve problems
• Provide first and second-level support, mentoring and documentation
• Manage and supervise all installed systems and infrastructure, and run a proactive health check of the platform
• Monitor and test application performance, identify bottlenecks and work with developers to fix them
• Write and maintain custom scripts to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
• Ensure data security against internal and external attacks
• Review or propose hardware, software and network designs with the Head of Infrastructure and external consultants, and deliver proof of concepts
• Test new versions and features in UAT and pre-production environments
• Manage projects, plan resources and forecast delivery; schedule operations and verify that changes are safe
• Follow up installations and ensure software licensing compliance

Required profile

• Ability to cover a multi-technology environment with high technicality
• Significant experience of 5 to 10 years in a similar function managing multiple datacenters and/or WAN/LAN networks is welcomed
