Senior/Principal Operational Assistant - Health Insurance and Administration

About the role

The European Investment Bank is looking for a Senior/Principal Operational Assistant to support the Health Insurance Scheme (HIS) and related programmes at its Luxembourg headquarters. The role involves regular office presence and offers the chance to work in a multicultural, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Administer the EIB Health Insurance Scheme, including preventive medicine programmes and medical assistance for private life occurrences.
• Manage sick leaves, occupational disabilities, and work‑related illnesses/accidents.
• Handle procurement and policy administration of HIS contracts.
• Act as the main contact for internal clients on HIS enquiries, reimbursements, and guarantee letters.
• Maintain accurate records, databases, and provide operational reporting and the annual HIS report.
• Coordinate with the Third‑Party Administrator on contractual data, KPIs, and complaints.
• Support procurement queries, budgetary management, and HR system optimisation projects.

Required profile

• Secondary level diploma with a 2‑year certification in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, at least 2 years in HR administration dealing with insurance.
• Good knowledge of the Bank’s organisational structure and procedures is an advantage.
• Fluent English and/or French, with a good command of the other language.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard computer tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, intranet editing tools, electronic document management.
• Familiarity with Bank software applications such as PeopleSoft HR and Financials, Business Objects, GED, and SPARK.
