Senior/Principal Operational Assistant – Health Insurance & Administration

About the role

The European Investment Bank is looking for a Senior/Principal Operational Assistant to support the Health Insurance Scheme (HIS) and related health programmes for staff and their families. Based at the Luxembourg headquarters, the role requires regular on‑site presence and offers the chance to work in a truly international, multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Administer the EIB and EIF Health Insurance Scheme, including preventive medicine programmes and medical assistance for private life events.
• Manage sick‑leave, occupational disability, and work‑related illness/accident records.
• Oversee procurement and policy administration of HIS contracts.
• Act as the primary contact for internal clients on HIS queries, applying knowledge of staff rules and internal procedures.
• Validate and process medical claim reimbursements and issue guarantee letters for hospitalisation.
• Maintain accurate documentation, both paper and electronic, and ensure data quality in databases.
• Prepare operational reports, produce the annual HIS report and suggest improvements.
• Liaise with the Third‑Party Administrator on contractual data protection, KPIs and communications.
