Senior Financial Controller – Banking Finance Team

About the role

The bank is seeking a Senior Financial Controller to join its Finance team in Luxembourg. You will be responsible for financial planning, performance monitoring and control of financing and notes issuance activities, providing key insights for senior management decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse monthly management reports and analytical P&L.
• Monitor financial performance across business lines and client segments.
• Participate in forecasting, budgeting and medium‑term financial planning.
• Develop and maintain financial dashboards using Power BI.
• Oversee accounting and financial monitoring of financing and notes issuance.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Contribute to FINREP, regulatory reporting and ensure IFRS compliance.
• Drive finance transformation, automation and process‑optimisation projects.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Big Four, banking or financial‑services environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS (especially financial instruments) and banking products.
• Experience with Lux GAAP and taxation is a plus.
• Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Power BI or similar reporting tools.
• SQL, databases or data‑analytics tools (strong advantage).
