Head of Risk (Europe)

About the role

Paytm Europe Payments S.A. is establishing a regulated payments business in Luxembourg and will expand across Europe. The Head of Risk will create and lead the Risk Management function, ensuring robust governance, regulatory compliance and support for commercial growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement an Enterprise Risk Framework, Risk Appetite Statement and supporting policies aligned with CSSF, EBA, DORA and other European regulations.
• Lead the risk function as the second line of defence, providing independent challenge to senior management and preparing risk reports for the Board and Risk & Compliance Committee.
• Oversee operational, technology, cyber, outsourcing and resilience risks, embedding DORA and operational‑resilience requirements by design.
• Support new product launches, partnerships and market expansion through proactive risk assessments and commercially pragmatic advice.
• Develop Key Risk Indicators, risk dashboards, maintain the corporate Risk Register and coordinate stress‑testing and scenario analysis.
• Build and lead a high‑performing risk team, promote a strong risk culture and collaborate with Compliance, Financial Crime, Internal Audit and first‑line functions.

Required profile

• Senior risk‑management experience within a regulated financial‑services environment (payment institution, e‑money institution or bank).
• Deep knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management, Operational/IT risk, risk‑appetite frameworks and European regulatory expectations (DORA, EBA Guidelines, PSD2/PSD3).
• Proven ability to present risk matters to Boards, regulators and senior executives.
• Strong stakeholder‑management and leadership capabilities, with a strategic, commercially pragmatic mindset.
• Professional risk qualifications (IRM, PRM, FRM or equivalent) are highly desirable.
