Senior Accountant – Insurance (Luxembourg)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant with deep experience in the Luxembourg insurance industry to join a well‑established insurer. The role can be filled on a permanent basis or as a freelance contract, offering exposure to key financial and regulatory matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage general accounting for one or more insurance entities.
• Execute monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings.
• Prepare annual financial statements and statutory accounts.
• Contribute to regulatory reporting required by the Commissariat aux Assurances (CAA).
• Support Solvency II and other prudential reporting requirements.
• Perform account reconciliations and monitor technical provisions.
• Collaborate with actuarial, risk, compliance, audit and external audit teams.
• Participate in continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of accounting experience, preferably within an insurance company, reinsurer or a specialist insurance firm.
• Strong knowledge of Luxembourg insurance regulations, including CAA requirements and Solvency II.
• Proven experience in financial closings and statutory reporting.
• Professional proficiency in French and English.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems (asset).
