Project Officer for Interdisciplinary Research Projects

About the role

The Institute for Advanced Studies (IAS) at the University of Luxembourg seeks a Project Officer to support the coordination of interdisciplinary research projects, primarily the Marie Skłodowska‑Curie Actions (MSCA) COFUND doctoral recruitment programme. The role involves managing high volumes of international applications and ensuring smooth collaboration between candidates, supervisors, and internal departments.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the flow of PhD project applications and match candidates with potential supervisors in line with EU regulations.
• Handle large numbers of international applications, maintaining timely and accurate communication with all stakeholders.
• Liaise with HR and Doctoral Schools to monitor the hiring process.
• Maintain detailed records, track processes, and contribute to internal and external reporting.
• Support IAS internal calls, workshops, and daily collaboration with the project manager and administrative team.
• Assist in the coordination of IAS internal funding instruments, including calls for projects, evaluation, and follow‑up activities.

Required profile

• Previous experience in project management, recruitment, or HR administration, preferably within an academic or research environment.
• Strong organisational abilities with a focus on detail and meeting deadlines.
• Comfortable managing a high volume of emails and process‑driven tasks.
• Good IT literacy and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
