About the role
The Privileges and Immunities Officer will support the Agency in managing legal frameworks related to privileges, immunities, and host‑country agreements within an international organization context. The role involves close collaboration with legal advisors, governmental counterparts, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and effective administration of legal instruments.
Key responsibilities
- Interpret and apply the legal framework governing privileges and immunities for the Agency.
- Draft, review, and administer host‑country agreements and related legal documents.
- Liaise with governmental and host‑nation counterparts on legal and administrative matters, including negotiation of bilateral agreements.
- Collaborate with legal counsel on the preparation and review of legal instruments, administrative reviews, and dispute‑management processes.
- Maintain accurate records and provide guidance on the implementation of international legal frameworks.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience (minimum 6 years progressive expertise).
- At least 2 years post‑related experience in international law, legal administration, or a related field.
- Demonstrated exposure to privileges and immunities, host‑country agreements, or international legal frameworks.
- Strong digital literacy and experience with office automation systems.
- Proven ability to liaise with governmental or host‑nation counterparts.
