About the role

The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) seeks a Principal Legal Advisor to lead its legal office. This senior position provides strategic legal guidance on international, commercial and dispute matters while ensuring compliance with NATO regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the legal office, supervising staff and coordinating legal activities.
• Advise senior management on legal issues related to international organisations, commercial contracts and dispute resolution.
• Oversee litigation and dispute handling at the international level.
• Ensure all legal procedures comply with NATO and member‑state regulations.
• Maintain relationships with external counsel and NATO legal networks.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in law and certified legal training.
• At least ten years of legal experience in government or intergovernmental organisations.
• Proven experience managing a legal office or function.
• Authorization to practice law in a NATO member state.
• Fluency in English; working knowledge of French is desirable.
