Legal Counsel – Fintech & Payments (Luxembourg)

About the role

As our Legal Counsel, you will provide high‑level legal guidance within the fintech sector, focusing on payments, e‑money and consumer credit products, ensuring regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Support product development by collaborating cross‑functionally to design and launch new payments and consumer credit services, integrating technical considerations into legal analysis.
• Identify legal and regulatory risks, propose mitigation strategies aligned with the company’s risk appetite.
• Advise on financial regulatory requirements such as PSD2, AML/KYC, e‑money regulations and CCD2 to ensure adherence.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, fostering legal awareness across the organisation.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience, ideally 8‑10 years overall.
• Deep knowledge of financial and consumer credit regulations (PSD2, AML/KYC, EMRs, CCD2) with a track record in fintech and payments.
• Analytical mindset with ability to make sound risk‑based decisions.
• Technical and commercial awareness of fintech, payments and consumer lending processes.
• Fluent English; Italian or French a plus.
