Legal Counsel, Fintech – New Payments

About the role

Satispay is looking for a Legal Counsel to support its fast‑growing Fintech business, focusing on payments, e‑money and consumer credit products. You will provide high‑level legal guidance, ensure regulatory compliance and help shape new product offerings.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product, engineering and commercial teams to design and launch new payments and consumer‑credit services, including BNPL.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal and regulatory risks in line with the company’s risk appetite.
• Advise on compliance with PSD2, AML/KYC, e‑money regulations, CCD2 and related financial legislation.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, promoting legal awareness across the organization.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience, ideally 8‑10 years in Fintech or Payments.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial and consumer‑credit regulations (PSD2, AML/KYC, EMRs, CCD2).
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to make risk‑based decisions.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Italian or French is a plus.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of PSD2, AML/KYC, e‑money and consumer‑credit regulatory frameworks.
• Understanding of basic technology and engineering processes in Fintech and Payments.
