Investment Officer – Deep Tech & Digital Unit

About the role

The Deep Tech & Digital Unit of the European Investment Bank is looking for an Investment Officer to originate, assess and execute equity‑type financings for high‑growth, technology‑driven companies across Europe. The role is based at the Luxembourg headquarters and requires regular on‑site presence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead direct equity‑type financings throughout the full investment lifecycle, from origination and screening to due diligence, structuring, approval, execution and post‑signing monitoring.
• Identify and originate investment opportunities by mapping the European deep‑tech and digital ecosystem and building relationships with founders, venture and growth investors, corporates and public partners.
• Conduct in‑depth due diligence on companies, technologies and markets, assessing commercial potential and strategic fit.
• Prepare robust financing proposals and present them to internal decision‑making bodies.
• Collaborate with internal EIB services and external stakeholders, including EU institutions, national promotional banks and other public partners.

Required profile

• Strong analytical judgement and ability to evaluate complex technology‑driven business models.
• Genuine interest in deep‑tech and digital technologies such as AI, robotics, semiconductors, quantum technologies, space and defence.
• Proven ability to work credibly with founders, investors and internal stakeholders.
