Head of Legal (m/f)

About the role

BDO Luxembourg is seeking a Head of Legal to lead its legal function across the firm. Reporting directly to senior management, you will provide strategic legal counsel, ensure compliance with Luxembourg law, and support the Executive Committee on high‑impact decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee corporate law matters, including governance, legal structuring, and lifecycle management.
• Prepare and maintain corporate documentation for the company.
• Ensure adherence to corporate governance principles for all entities.
• Monitor new laws, regulations and market practices that affect the business.
• Lead review, negotiation and validation of commercial and partnership contracts.
• Collaborate with the Data Protection Officer to guarantee GDPR compliance and promote data‑protection culture.
• Advise the Executive Committee on key legal and strategic issues.
• Monitor litigation and insurance matters, coordinating with external counsel when needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in a similar senior legal role, preferably within a regulated or financial‑services environment.
• Strong knowledge of Luxembourg corporate law and commercial contracts.
• Proven experience supporting or overseeing data‑protection functions with solid GDPR expertise.
• Familiarity with corporate governance frameworks and experience advising Boards and Executive Committees.
• Ability to operate in a fast‑paced, high‑stakes environment with direct access to executive leadership.
