Head of Commercial Banking (Luxembourg)

About the role

RiverBank, a fast‑growing financial services firm in Luxembourg, is seeking a Head of Commercial Banking to launch and lead its commercial banking activities. The role will shape strategy, drive loan and deposit growth, manage risk, and build a high‑performing team to serve SME clients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a commercial banking strategy for Luxembourg, targeting SME financing needs.
• Build and maintain a network of clients, advisors, investors and partner banks.
• Identify new business opportunities for loan and deposit products and generate a high‑quality loan portfolio.
• Collaborate with product teams to design market‑appropriate offerings and structure deals within the bank’s risk appetite.
• Lead origination, underwriting, and closing processes while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets and provide regular performance reports to senior management.
• Maintain strong client relationships and deliver exceptional customer service.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of lending, financing concepts and banking practices.
• Proven track record in sales and relationship management within the financial services industry.
• Strong financial and credit analysis capabilities, with experience negotiating and underwriting complex loans.
• Self‑starter with excellent interpersonal, planning and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage both large‑scale and individual loan portfolios and solve complex, non‑standard problems.
