Financial Controller – 6‑Month Maternity Cover (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Financial Controller to cover a maternity leave for 6‑8 months, joining a finance team of five members. The position is fully remote and reports to the UK finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform monthly reviews of trial balances and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare and submit monthly financial reporting packs to the UK finance team by the 2nd and 4th working day of each month.
• Conduct monthly variance analysis, investigating significant movements against budget, forecast and prior periods.
• Execute and document monthly and quarterly SOX controls to maintain internal control compliance.
• Perform revenue reconciliations and ensure proper revenue recognition in line with company policies.
• Review customer invoices for accuracy, resolve discrepancies and monitor work‑in‑process balances.

Required profile

• Experience in financial controlling or accounting, preferably within a corporate environment.
• Familiarity with month‑end close processes and variance analysis.
• Understanding of SOX control requirements.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and meet tight reporting deadlines.
