Experienced Lawyer – Banking, Insurance & Financial Services

About the role

You will advise leading credit institutions, investment firms, insurance and reinsurance undertakings, electronic‑money and payment institutions, FinTechs and RegTechs on cutting‑edge regulatory, commercial and contract matters. The role involves both local and cross‑border work, including high‑profile M&A, restructurings and regulatory licence applications.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on banking, insurance and financial‑services regulations, draft memoranda and opinions, and review complex contracts, procedures and policies.
• Participate in global M&A transactions, restructurings and high‑stakes litigation or enforcement proceedings.
• Prepare and file intricate regulatory licence applications and notifications in direct contact with Luxembourg supervisory authorities.
• Assist in strategic assessments of criminal and regulatory investigations and advise on innovative FinTech/RegTech matters.
• Design and deliver internal and external training on emerging regulatory developments.

Required profile

• Strong academic record (M2 from France, Belgium or Luxembourg) in civil and commercial law; specialization in financial‑services regulation, insurance or banking law is an asset.
• Qualified or planning to register for the Bar, preferably in Luxembourg.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the financial‑services sector.
• Fluent in English and French (spoken and written); German and/or Luxembourgish are a plus.
• Excellent legal writing, analytical, communication and argumentation skills, with a rigorous and conscientious work ethic.
