Electricity Expert – Energy Policy Project (North Macedonia)

About the role

NTU International A/S is coordinating an EU‑funded project to strengthen strategic, institutional and operational capacity for effective energy policy in North Macedonia. The project seeks an Electricity Expert to join the core team and support implementation activities over a 42‑month period.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on the legislative and institutional framework governing electricity.
• Analyse and develop recommendations for the electricity market, generation, and RES integration.
• Support the design of balancing mechanisms, transmission and distribution strategies, and tariff regulation.
• Contribute to decarbonisation pathways, energy community models and digitalisation initiatives.
• Collaborate with EU Member State bodies and Energy Community Treaty partners as needed.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a directly related discipline (or Bachelor plus four years relevant experience).
• Minimum 8–10 years of professional experience in the energy sector.
• Proven experience on at least three assignments covering electricity market, generation, RES integration, grid operations, or related topics.
• Excellent spoken and written English (C1 level).
