Director of Accounting

About the role

The Director of Accounting will report directly to the CFO and own the full financial and cost accounting cycle for the company. This senior position ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with Luxembourg accounting and tax regulations, and drives continuous improvement of accounting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage the complete accounting cycle, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, banking, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Monitor cash flow, perform bank reconciliations, and prepare periodic statutory filings such as VAT, tax returns, and social security declarations.
• Prepare annual financial statements and support monthly, quarterly, and year‑end closings.
• Coordinate audit documentation and act as the main liaison with external auditors.
• Analyze financial variances, track key performance indicators, and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Implement reporting tools and lead continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting function.
• Mentor and progressively train accounting staff, preparing to assume direct people‑management responsibilities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of full‑cycle accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Luxembourg accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Excellent analytical abilities, high accuracy, and strong attention to detail.
• Ambition to grow into a leadership role with team management responsibilities.
• Fluency in German and French (written and spoken) is highly desirable.
