Conducting Officer – Portfolio Management & Business Development

About the role

Roundtable is seeking an experienced Conducting Officer to lead portfolio management and business development for its newly licensed Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM) in Luxembourg. This senior leadership position sits on the comité de direction and will shape the firm’s investment and investor strategy across venture capital, private equity and fund‑of‑funds.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the in‑house portfolio management function for all funds managed by the AIFM, taking and documenting discretionary investment and divestment decisions.
• Oversee investment decisions in line with each fund’s strategy, governance framework and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise external investment advisors and delegated portfolio management activities where applicable.
• Monitor portfolio performance in close collaboration with Risk, Compliance and Valuation officers.
• Contribute to the continuous development of the AIFM’s governance framework and regulatory documentation.
• Support business development by building relationships with fund managers, institutional investors and strategic partners, and participating in fundraising initiatives.
• Represent Roundtable across the European private‑markets ecosystem and identify new business opportunities.
• Oversee marketing and distribution of the funds, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in portfolio management within a regulated AIFM or similar investment environment.
• Strong knowledge of Annex I of the Luxembourg AIFM Law and related compliance obligations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead senior‑level teams and interact with boards and external advisors.
• Experience in business development, fundraising and LP relationship management in private‑market funds.
