Chargé·e d'études – Protection de l’environnement

About the role

The City of Dudelange is looking for a dedicated Study Officer to join its Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development service. This permanent, full‑time position supports the implementation of climate and energy initiatives, ensuring the municipality meets its sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Climate Pact and the EnerCoach programme.
• Develop internal projects promoting rational energy use and renewable energy deployment.
• Review permit applications for classified establishments (class 1 and 2) and issue technical opinions.
• Organise information and awareness campaigns for citizens and municipal staff.
• Translate the Sustainable Development Master Plan and monitor its measures.
• Implement the Covenant of Mayors action plan.
• Coordinate eco‑responsible projects with technical services and local partners.
• Oversee project management activities from conception to delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, natural sciences, or environmental sciences, or a technical diploma in the same fields.
• For civil‑servant candidates, a successful eligibility exam within the relevant career track.
• Proficiency in Luxembourgish, French and German; English is an asset.
• Strong organisational skills, responsibility, teamwork, autonomy and rigor.
• Problem‑solving ability and willingness to learn new software tools.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word).
