Accountant – International Finance (Permanent)

About the role

Cogent Communications is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its Luxembourg office. The role focuses on maintaining the books for subsidiaries in the Asia‑Pacific and LATAM regions, supporting the finance team with various administrative tasks, and ensuring compliance with local tax and reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily accounting transactions for international operations.
• Prepare accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations, keeping the general ledger up‑to‑date.
• File and reconcile corporate taxes, VAT, withholding, and GST returns.
• Book invoices, follow up on payments, and perform supplier control reconciliations.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Liaise with internal teams and external accounting firms to align local books with group reporting.
• Handle audit requests and ensure timely filing of statutory accounts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably with international finance exposure.
• Strong initiative, service‑mindset, and ability to work independently.
• Fluent English; Spanish is a plus.
• Authorized to work in Luxembourg.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Navision.
