Accountant, Alternative Investments

About the role

Our client, a globally integrated provider of legal, fiduciary and asset‑servicing solutions, is expanding its European hub in Luxembourg. They are looking for a highly analytical Accountant to manage a portfolio of complex, high‑value alternative investment funds, working closely with elite asset managers and institutional investors.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate weekly, monthly and quarterly NAVs for a diverse range of alternative investment products.
• Perform three‑way reconciliations of cash, assets and liabilities across investment managers, prime brokers and custodians.
• Validate partner and shareholder allocations, including management and incentive fee structures, hurdle rates and feeder‑specific expenses.
• Interpret fund offering memoranda and constitutional documents to ensure valuation alignment.
• Serve as the primary operational contact for institutional fund managers, investors and third‑party stakeholders.
• Assist with onboarding of new funds and integration of business wins.
• Prepare and review audited financial statements and lead year‑end and interim audit processes.
• Ensure compliance with Luxembourg AML/KYC legislation and private‑equity/hedge‑fund regulatory frameworks.
• Participate in IT and systems development projects, conducting quality‑assurance testing on proprietary fund‑accounting platforms.

Required profile

• University degree and a recognised professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in alternative fund administration, with exposure to complex securities and derivative products.
• Strong knowledge of alternative investment structures, offshore financial services and valuation methodologies.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight reporting deadlines.
• Client‑centric communication style.
