Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join the Legal Team of a leading global financial services firm. The role will support the EU‑based Investment Firm entity on all legal and regulatory matters, with a strong focus on financial instruments and emerging crypto‑asset regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the Investment Firm licence and passporting under MiFID and related regulations.
• Support the authorisation and ongoing compliance of crypto‑asset services under MiCA.
• Draft, review and update policies, procedures, terms and conditions, and trading rules for MiFID‑ and MiCA‑regulated products.
• Lead regulatory communications with national competent authorities, ESMA and other relevant bodies.
• Review marketing, sales and educational materials for compliance with MiFID and MiCA.
• Coordinate with external counsel to ensure cross‑jurisdictional compliance.
• Deliver high‑priority MiCA compliance projects across the enterprise.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with 5–10 years of experience in financial‑product legal and regulatory work for MiFID‑regulated clients, preferably from a major law firm or a licensed MiFID entity.
• Deep knowledge of EU financial law frameworks such as MiFID, MiFIR, IFR/IFD, EMIR, MAR and emerging MiCA.
• Proven track record of licence maintenance and cross‑border regulatory implementation, including interaction with U.S. regulators.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and project‑management abilities, with capacity to handle high volume and competing priorities.
