Junior Financial Accountant

About the role

Join Clearstream, a leading international clearing and settlement organisation within the Deutsche Börse Group, as a Junior Financial Accountant. You will work in a client‑focused, technology‑driven environment, handling accounting tasks for multiple Clearstream entities and supporting critical closing and reporting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily financial accounting operations, ensuring stability and accuracy while responding to ad‑hoc stakeholder requests.
• Support monthly and quarterly closing cycles, preparing trial‑balance reconciliations for timely financial reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of annual accounts in accordance with Luxembourg GAAP (Lux GAAP).
• Provide documentation for internal and external audits and conduct simple analyses under the guidance of senior accountants.
• Follow internal control guidelines, apply accounting policies, and help update procedures as needed.
• Maintain the completeness and accuracy of the general‑ledger chart of accounts and keep clean books for assigned entities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, or Accountancy.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a banking institution or a major audit firm.
• Basic accounting knowledge with a willingness to develop expertise in IFRS and Lux GAAP.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive team player capable of working independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and spoken English; French and/or German are a strong asset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with SAP (highly desirable).
