VP Financial Controller – Corporate Investment Banking (Luxembourg)

About the role

We are seeking a VP Financial Controller to lead the financial and regulatory reporting function for a worldwide Corporate Investment Banking group’s new European headquarters in Luxembourg. The role offers a clear first‑year development path, close collaboration with the entity’s authorized management and the group CFO, and increasing interaction with the Luxembourg regulator.

Key responsibilities

• Review, challenge and sign‑off the entity’s financial statements and regulatory reports (FINREP, COREP, CSSF filings).
• Serve as the primary point of accountability for Luxembourg‑based financial and regulatory reporting, including direct management of CSSF communications and examination support.
• Provide financial analysis, reporting, and board‑level materials to authorized management and governance bodies.
• Maintain technical accounting positions under IFRS and coordinate significant judgments with group accounting policy.
• Strengthen the local control environment and oversee reporting produced outside Luxembourg.
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage the local audit relationship.
• Contribute to the design of the target operating model between Luxembourg and other European offices.

Required profile

• 6–12 years of experience in banking audit or financial control, with exposure to regulated entities in Luxembourg or a comparable European jurisdiction.
• Strong foundation in IFRS and working knowledge of FINREP and COREP frameworks.
• Proven ability to operate in senior settings, communicate clearly with regulators, auditors and executives, and handle challenging situations.
• Understanding of outsourcing governance and substance expectations for Luxembourg‑regulated entities.
• Fluent English.
