Trainee – Private Credit Research & Analytics

About the role

We are looking for a motivated trainee to join the Private Credit Division of the European Investment Fund in Luxembourg for a five‑month programme starting September 2026. The role will give you hands‑on exposure to European private‑credit markets, portfolio performance analysis and market intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct focused research on European alternative lenders, analysing market sentiment, opportunities, risks and thematic trends.
• Perform performance analysis of the EIF private‑credit portfolio, including returns, defaults, recoveries and benchmark development.
• Review, consolidate and update private‑credit data in internal systems, ensuring data quality and consistency.
• Support the creation of communication material and case studies that showcase EIF’s investment activity.
• Prepare and deliver bi‑monthly presentations on market developments by theme or geography.

Required profile

• University degree (preferably Master’s level or advanced postgraduate studies) in Corporate Finance, Economics, Asset Management or a related field.
• Strong interest in private credit and its interaction with other alternative assets.
• Good analytical and communication abilities.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

• Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint.
