Sustainability Analyst Trainee (5‑month program)

About the role

The European Investment Fund (EIF) is looking for a motivated Trainee – Sustainability Analyst to join its Sustainability Unit in Luxembourg for a five‑month assignment starting September 2026. You will support the development of an enhanced system to manage and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) under the Sustainability Guarantee.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in automating LTTs across different thematics and monitor the pipeline.
• Collect, consolidate, and maintain data from stakeholders in agreed trackers and tools.
• Support KPI and Sustainability Guarantee monitoring, preparing extracts, summaries and internal reporting materials.
• Flag gaps, inconsistencies or data issues and ensure timely follow‑up.
• Contribute to the structuring, updating and quality‑checking of LTT content, ensuring consistency and traceability.

Required profile

• University degree (completed or ongoing) in Business Administration, Finance, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Law or a related field; final‑year Master’s students are preferred.
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities with attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of climate, sustainability concepts and sustainable finance.
• Ability to work with quantitative and qualitative data in a structured and reliable manner.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.
• Familiarity with digital and AI‑enabled tools for data analysis or process support.
