SQL Quality Assurance Lead (Remote)

About the role

This hourly, remote contractor position leads quality assurance for SQL and database AI training projects. You will ensure that AI‑generated SQL queries and related content meet strict accuracy, performance, and security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review AI‑generated SQL queries, database explanations, and data‑modeling content against project rubrics.
• Provide precise written feedback to trainers, annotators, and QA reviewers.
• Identify and document recurring quality issues and communicate updates to the team.
• Support onboarding of new contributors and maintain up‑to‑date documentation.
• Monitor contributor performance and activate inconsistent workers.
• Collaborate with remote teams using Discord, Google Sheets, and dashboards.
• Ensure adherence to security, readability, and formatting guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• Strong command of English for clear technical communication.
• 3+ years of hands‑on SQL experience in analytics, engineering, BI, or QA.
• Deep understanding of SQL fundamentals (SELECT, JOINs, GROUP BY, CTEs, window functions, indexes, transactions, normalization).
• Ability to evaluate SQL content for correctness, efficiency, security, and rubric compliance.
• Experience leading or supporting remote analyst/engineer/QA teams is strongly preferred.
