Specialist Corporate Finance

About the role

The Corporate Finance team at Cargolux is seeking a Specialist to support a broad range of financial activities, from carbon management and risk mitigation to M&A and business planning. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, delivering accurate analysis and recommendations that enable senior management to make informed decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast CO₂ emissions, identify decarbonisation levers and assess related costs.
• Monitor carbon market developments and ensure compliance with mandatory schemes.
• Assist in developing and updating the Financial Risk Management policy for carbon and interest‑rate risk.
• Prepare materials for the Risk Management Committee, including market research and risk exposure analysis.
• Identify funding needs, evaluate financing options (asset‑backed, corporate debt, revolving credit), negotiate proposals and prepare transaction documentation.
• Manage post‑closing financing structures and track sustainable finance market trends.
• Support M&A processes by conducting financial, market and competitor analysis, building valuation models (DCF, comparables) and coordinating due diligence.
• Contribute to financial and business planning through KPI forecasting, impact analysis on P&L and balance sheet, and sensitivity testing.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Finance.
• 2‑3 years of experience in a corporate finance department of a large corporation or consulting firm.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Fluent written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
• Programming knowledge (Macros, VBA, SQL) is a plus.
• Financial risk management, financial analysis and financial modelling.
• Familiarity with derivatives and structured products.
