Senior Tax Officer

About the role

The Senior Tax Officer will ensure timely, accurate, and compliant filing of tax obligations for Luxembourg entities. You will work closely with Operations, KYC, Legal, and Technology teams to maintain robust end‑to‑end reporting controls.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review Corporate Income Tax (CIT) and Municipal Business Tax (MBT) returns for a client portfolio.
• Review colleagues' tax work and act as the internal contact for corporate tax compliance issues.
• Manage Net Wealth Tax (NWT) filings to the Administration des Contributions Directes (ACD) within statutory deadlines.
• Oversee VAT returns and related reporting where applicable.
• Monitor tax deadlines, maintain a compliance calendar, and ensure all filings are submitted accurately and on time.
• Calculate and review year‑end tax provisions in line with Luxembourg GAAP (Lux GAAP).
• Liaise directly with the Luxembourg Inland Revenue, handle correspondence, and reconcile tax assessments.
• Support process improvement and automation initiatives and deliver training to onboarding and servicing teams.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of hands‑on tax return preparation experience in financial services in Luxembourg, preferably Big 4.
• Strong understanding of Luxembourg tax reporting to ACD and CSSF.
• Experience with Luxembourg fund structures (UCITS, AIFs) and custodial environments.
• Familiarity with KYC/AML frameworks and their integration with tax reporting.
• Autonomous, structured, and solution‑oriented mindset with high attention to detail.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (large data sets, lookups, pivots).
• XML validation tools.
• Tax preparation software and Lux GAAP knowledge.
