Senior Risk Management Officer

About the role

The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is seeking a Senior Risk Management Officer to join the CEO Office. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead the implementation and enforcement of LIST’s risk management system and ensure that risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, co‑build and maintain a comprehensive register of all LIST risks.
• Collect new risks through internal and external monitoring and organise annual reviews with risk owners.
• Collaborate with risk owners to define risk strategies (avoid, accept, mitigate, transfer) and track mitigation actions.
• Escalate critical risks to senior management and present mid‑year risk reports.
• Train and communicate risk‑management methodology to staff.
• Document processes, procedures and best practices for risk management.
• Produce consolidated risk reports for top management.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of professional experience in risk management after a relevant master’s degree.
• Strong analytical ability with attention to detail.
• Proven autonomy in managing complete processes and meeting strict deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise between top management and risk owners.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of ISO 31000 risk‑management standards.
• Proficiency in risk analysis methodologies and decision‑making frameworks.
• Experience with risk register creation and mitigation planning.
• Relevant professional certifications such as CRM or PMI‑RMP (preferred).
