Senior Data Engineering & Reporting Automation Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineering & Reporting Automation Specialist to design, develop, and maintain automated data pipelines and reporting solutions. You will ensure data is accurate, accessible, and delivered efficiently across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust, automated data pipelines and workflows for business intelligence and reporting.
• Design and implement ETL/ELT frameworks for large, complex datasets.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate reporting requirements into scalable automated solutions.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality through automated validation and monitoring.
• Automate generation and distribution of reports and dashboards using data‑visualisation tools.
• Apply best practices in data governance, security, and compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline and reporting issues promptly.
• Drive continuous improvement through innovation and automation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience automating reporting processes, replacing Excel‑based solutions, VBA macros, and manual workflows.
• Proven experience integrating heterogeneous data sources (e.g., Data Warehouse, Excel, Denodo or similar).
• Strong background in financial and operational reporting data extraction.

Required skills

• Power BI dataset design aligned with central semantic models.
• Power Query (M language) for data preparation and modelling.
• Advanced DAX for complex measures and calculated columns.
• Power Automate for generating and distributing Excel outputs.
• ETL/ELT design and implementation.
• Data integration and transformation for analytical reporting.
• Row‑Level Security and access‑control implementation.
• Excel and VBA for legacy automation replacement.
• Denodo or similar data‑virtualisation layer.
• Structured data extraction from Excel, CSV and other tabular sources.
