Remote Project Manager – Agentic AI

About the role

We are looking for a fully remote Project Manager to lead end‑to‑end agentic AI initiatives. The role combines classical waterfall project management with deep understanding of autonomous AI agents and Model Context Protocol (MCP) environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead waterfall or hybrid agentic AI projects from conception through closure, creating WBS, Gantt charts, and specifications such as Agent Capability Matrix and MCP Tool Registry.
• Monitor progress using Plan vs. Actual, Earned Value Management (CPI/SPI) and manage AI‑specific risks like goal misalignment, token cost overruns, MCP downtime, and unsafe tool calls.
• Implement formal change control for scope, timeline, and budget adjustments.
• Coordinate internal AI engineers and third‑party MCP vendors.
• Lead and hold accountable ML engineers, MCP developers, and safety testers, managing capacity across multiple agent projects.
• Conduct performance evaluations based on delivery and baseline adherence.
• Run milestone reviews, change control boards, daily stand‑ups, and maintain task boards, production readiness checklists, and documentation wikis.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering at least one production or pilot agentic AI project (e.g., autonomous customer‑support agent, multi‑agent workflow, tool‑using LLM system).
• Ability to discuss agent architecture, tools used, handling of non‑determinism, safety guardrails, and lessons learned.
• 5+ years of project management experience using classical methods (WBS, Gantt, CPM, EVM).
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Operations Management, or Project Management.
• Expertise in formal change control; PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus.
• Structured thinking, accountability, proactive leadership, and strong documentation and communication skills.
