Principal Solutions Architect

About the role

The Principal Solutions Architect will own the end‑to‑end design of complex customer and prospect solutions built on Hootsuite’s social media management platform. Working remotely, you will bridge customer‑facing teams and Product & Tech, translating business needs into robust technical architectures.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in strategic client meetings and discovery workshops to understand business objectives and operational constraints.
• Challenge and refine client requirements, proposing pragmatic solutions grounded in platform capabilities.
• Articulate complex technical concepts in simple language to senior business stakeholders.
• Lead the design of end‑to‑end solutions that integrate core platform features with external systems such as CRM, marketing automation, data warehouses, and BI tools.
• Translate integration requirements (APIs, webhooks, SSO, data sync, custom workflows) into user‑centric solution designs.
• Produce architecture artefacts like solution blueprints, sequence diagrams, and data flow diagrams.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering to prioritize requirements and validate technical designs.
• Provide feedback loops from the field to inform product enhancements.

Required profile

• Strong ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders (CMO, Head of Social, Digital, Data teams).
• Excellent communication skills to translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Proven experience designing scalable, robust solutions in a SaaS environment.
• Ability to evaluate feasibility, risks, and trade‑offs of different solution approaches.
