Legal Counsel – Funds (Luxembourg/London)

About the role

We are seeking a Funds Legal Counsel to join the Management Company of a leading European asset manager. The position can be based in Luxembourg or London and focuses on the legal aspects of regulated investment funds, including UCITS and alternative structures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on the set‑up, structuring and ongoing operation of UCITS and alternative funds.
• Draft and review documentation for fund creation, restructuring, mergers and liquidations, ensuring compliance with Luxembourg and EU regulations.
• Coordinate preparation and submission of approval requests to Luxembourg and other regulatory authorities.
• Monitor regulatory developments, assess their impact and advise internal teams and clients.
• Negotiate and manage contractual agreements in line with group standards and client requirements.
• Support fund governance, handle disputes, improve internal procedures and raise regulatory awareness across operational teams.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience as an investment funds lawyer, either in‑house or at a law firm.
• Strong knowledge of Luxembourg fund regulations, including UCITS, AIFMD, CSSF rules and relevant EU directives.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and negotiation abilities.
• Fluent in French and English.
