Legal Counsel, Fintech - New Payments (Luxembourg)

About the role

Satispay is hiring a Legal Counsel for its Fintech business, focusing on new payments, e-money and consumer credit products. The role provides high-level legal guidance on regulatory, contractual and product matters to ensure compliance and mitigate risk. Relocation to the Luxembourg office is required.

Key responsibilities

• Support product development by collaborating cross-functionally to design and launch new products in Payments and Consumer Credit (e.g. BNPL), integrating basic technical and engineering considerations into legal analysis.
• Identify legal and regulatory risks and propose mitigation strategies aligned with the company's risk appetite.
• Advise on financial regulatory requirements such as PSD2, AML/KYC, e-money regulations and CCD2.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and promote a culture of legal awareness.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with at least 5 years of professional experience, ideally 8-10 years.
• Deep knowledge of financial and consumer credit regulations (PSD2, AML/KYC, EMRs, CCD2) and a track record in Fintech and Payments, preferably in both private practice and in-house settings.
• Ability to analyse complex legal issues, exercise strong judgment and make risk-based decisions.
• Understanding of basic technology and engineering processes in Fintech, Payments and consumer lending; prior experience with technical teams is a significant plus.
• English fluency (written and spoken) is essential; Italian or French is a plus.
