Legal Counsel – EU Real Estate & Construction Operations

About the role

Amazon is seeking a Corporate Counsel to support its Real Estate and Operations teams in building and managing logistics facilities across Europe, with a focus on Germany. You will work on high‑impact projects ranging from multi‑million‑square‑foot fulfillment centers to specialized last‑mile sites, handling complex legal and business challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate and draft purchase agreements, ground leases, build‑to‑suit leases, development agreements and construction contracts.
• Partner with business teams to structure transactions that meet operational needs while managing legal risk.
• Advise on land‑use, zoning and permitting strategies for facility development.
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Tax and Construction to drive projects from site selection through launch.
• Develop creative solutions to legal issues arising during acquisition and development.
• Support post‑acquisition matters, including property‑management agreements and operational issues.
• Coordinate with external counsel on specialised matters, overseeing strategy and costs.
• Monitor real‑estate law trends and drive process improvements for efficiency and scalability.

Required profile

• Legal qualification (law degree) and admission to practice where applicable.
• Experience negotiating and drafting complex real‑estate and construction agreements.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with diverse business teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills in a fast‑paced environment.
