Legal Counsel, EU Operations Real Estate and Construction

About the role

Amazon is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join its Real Estate and Operations teams across Europe, with a focus on Germany. You will support the acquisition, development, and management of logistics facilities, ranging from fulfillment centers to last‑mile delivery stations.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate and draft complex real‑estate agreements, including purchase and sale, ground leases, build‑to‑suit leases, development agreements, and construction contracts.
• Partner with Operations, Finance, Tax, and Construction teams to structure transactions that meet operational needs while managing legal risk.
• Advise on land‑use, zoning, and permitting strategies to enable facility development.
• Coordinate with external counsel on specialized matters and oversee legal strategy and costs.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks throughout the project lifecycle, from site selection to facility launch.
• Stay current on real‑estate laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting Amazon’s logistics network.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in real‑estate transactions, construction contracts, and land‑use matters.
• Proven ability to negotiate and draft complex agreements.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills applied to dynamic, multi‑jurisdictional projects.
• Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.
