Inventory Planner – Capacity Planning Analyst

About the role
The Capacity Planning Team at Amazon seeks an Inventory Planner to develop cost‑optimal, data‑driven capacity solutions that support operational activities year‑round. You will own the end‑to‑end planning process, turning large data sets into actionable forecasts that keep the business agile during peak demand.
Key responsibilities
- Generate, maintain, and continuously improve data‑based capacity plans.
- Review performance metrics and execution gaps from prior plans to refine forecasts.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to align resource requirements and implementation strategies.
- Perform deep data analysis using SQL and Excel to uncover trends and patterns.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in regular meetings.
- Monitor planning accuracy, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions.
- Adapt quickly to changing business needs while supporting long‑term strategic objectives.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, business analytics, information systems, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Fluency in SQL.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
