Internal Audit Manager

About the role

ING Luxembourg is seeking an Internal Audit Manager to lead complex audit projects across financial, operational and compliance areas. The role involves assessing internal controls, ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting regulatory compliance within the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute detailed audit plans based on risk assessments.
• Lead audit engagements covering financial, operational and compliance processes.
• Evaluate internal control effectiveness, risk management and governance practices.
• Document findings, analyse results and recommend improvements.
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports and present results to senior management.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure audit activities comply with internal methodology and external requirements.
• Collaborate with business units to implement corrective actions and strengthen controls.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in internal audit, external audit or risk management within banking or financial services.
• Proven experience leading or coordinating audit projects.
• Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks such as COSO and audit standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior management.

Required skills

• Proficiency with audit software and data‑analytics tools (e.g., Knime, IDEA).
• Familiarity with COSO framework.
