FinCrime AML/CTF Manager – Relocate to Luxembourg

About the role

As the FinCrime AML/CTF Manager you will lead and grow the first‑line AML/CTF operations team, turning compliance policies into practical risk‑management processes across the whole customer lifecycle. The role is based in Luxembourg and requires relocation.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain the Customer Risk Assessment Frameworks, ensuring accurate risk scoring and categorisation.
• Lead periodic and event‑driven reviews of the customer portfolio to reassess risk classifications.
• Oversee onboarding and ongoing monitoring activities performed by KYC/KYB teams, aligning controls with regulatory expectations.
• Partner with Product teams to define onboarding requirements that balance compliance and user experience.
• Manage end‑to‑end transaction monitoring, including assessments, escalations and scenario calibration.
• Mentor and scale a team of AML/CTF analysts, report risk metrics to senior management, and act as liaison to 2nd‑line compliance.
• Approve Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) for the FIU.
• Prepare documentation for internal audits and external regulatory reviews.

Required profile

• 6+ years in AML/CTF operations within fintech, digital banking or payments, with at least 2 years leading a dedicated team.
• Deep knowledge of EU AML directives, FATF recommendations and Luxembourg regulatory requirements.
• Professional certification such as CAMS or ICA is highly expected.
• Proven experience managing transaction‑monitoring systems and designing customer risk‑rating frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder and communication skills across functions.
• Data‑driven mindset with ability to use KPIs and analytical tools.
