History Quality Assurance Lead (Remote)

About the role

This remote, hourly contract position leads quality assurance for history‑focused AI training projects. You will ensure that AI‑generated historical content and trainer outputs meet rigorous accuracy, contextual, and formatting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee quality, consistency, and trainer performance across multiple history data projects.
• Review AI‑generated content and trainer/QA work against detailed project rubrics.
• Provide precise written feedback and ensure contributors follow established quality guidelines.
• Assess content for historical accuracy, chronology, source awareness, causation, context, cultural nuance, clarity, and proper formatting.
• Identify recurring quality issues, communicate updates to trainers and QAs, and support onboarding of new contributors.
• Maintain documentation of quality standards and help reactivate contributors who are not consistently active.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in History, Classics, Archaeology, International Relations, or a closely related humanities field.
• Strong command of English for written feedback and team communication.
• 3+ years of experience in historical research, teaching, writing, editing, academic review, museum/archival work, or curriculum development.
• Deep understanding of historical methods, chronology, primary vs. secondary sources, historiography, causation, and regional context.
• Ability to evaluate content against detailed rubrics and spot issues such as anachronisms, unsupported claims, biased framing, or fabricated citations.
