Head of Financial Policies & Methodology Division

About the role

The European Investment Bank is seeking a senior leader to head its Financial Policies and Methodology Division at the Luxembourg headquarters. This full‑time, permanent position reports to the Head of Department and plays a key role in shaping the bank’s financial strategy, risk appetite, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, organise and manage the Division, leading a team of finance professionals.
• Develop and maintain robust methodologies for base‑rate setting, loan pricing, asset‑liability management and fund transfer pricing.
• Design hedging strategies, optimise bilateral ISDA books and assess cost and risk implications.
• Determine the size, structure and composition of the liquidity buffer and support the funding plan definition.
• Provide policy and strategy guidance in response to regulatory developments and accounting changes.
• Collaborate with Group Risk & Compliance, Secretariat General, Chief Financial Controller and Legal Directorates.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in finance, risk management or banking, preferably at a senior or director level.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical mindset with a deep understanding of financial strategies and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills and the capacity to work closely with senior stakeholders.
