Head of Finance – Regulated Financial Environment

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Finance to lead the local finance function of an international, fast‑growing organization operating in a regulated financial environment. Based in Luxembourg, you will work closely with senior management and global stakeholders to ensure robust financial governance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Oversee end‑to‑end accounting operations, including monthly and yearly closings, financial controls and procedures.
• Ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial statements and reporting.
• Manage Financial Planning & Analysis activities such as budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Supervise treasury functions, including cash management, bank relationships and reconciliations.
• Oversee tax matters, both direct and indirect.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate closely with Compliance, Risk and Operations teams.
• Act as the main point of contact for internal and external auditors.
• Drive process improvements and automation within the finance function.
• Contribute to international and cross‑functional projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance or Accounting with a professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting/finance, preferably in a regulated financial environment such as banking.
• Strong knowledge of Luxembourg GAAP (IFRS/US GAAP is a plus).
• Proven experience in financial reporting, closing processes and internal controls.
• Understanding of international and multicultural work environments.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial systems.
• Fluent in English and Japanese; additional European language is an advantage.
