Head of Accounting – France & Luxembourg

About the role

The Head of Accounting for France & Luxembourg will lead statutory and financial reporting, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and act as a key partner to the CFO. This senior position oversees the accounting team, drives process excellence, and supports finance transformation initiatives across the sub‑region.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver statutory financial statements for France and Luxembourg in line with local GAAP, IFRS and Group policies.
• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
• Serve as primary contact for external auditors, statutory authorities and regulatory bodies.
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and internal control frameworks, including J‑SOX.
• Provide accurate actuals for Controlling analysis and support FP&A with consistent data.
• Advise business partners on complex accounting topics such as revenue recognition, provisions, intercompany, and leases.
• Support the CFO with statutory reporting, governance, audits and board presentations.
• Lead continuous improvement of accounting processes, automation and ERP standardisation.
• Lead, develop and ensure succession planning for the France & Luxembourg accounting team.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering statutory financial statements for France and Luxembourg.
• Strong knowledge of local GAAP, IFRS and J‑SOX compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead an accounting team and manage external audit relationships.
• Experience supporting CFOs, finance business partners and senior finance functions.
• Track record of driving process improvement and finance transformation initiatives.
