FinCrime Investigator – Advanced Fraud & AML Specialist

About the role

As a FinCrime Investigator you will move beyond standard forensic reconstruction to handle the most critical fraud cases and shape long‑term strategy. You will lead high‑complexity investigations, build intelligence on emerging criminal schemes, and partner with product and engineering to close systemic control gaps.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end forensic investigations into sophisticated fraud typologies such as organized scam networks, complex merchant account takeover, and advanced AML/CTF syndicates.
• Gather and analyse data from internal systems and OSINT sources to produce evidence‑based intelligence packages.
• Act as escalation point for the first line of defence, providing mentorship and conducting quality reviews of investigation files.
• Document investigation steps and evidence in a defensible manner for auditors, law enforcement, or regulators.
• Author high‑priority SAR/STR narratives and ensure timely regulatory reporting.
• Translate investigative findings into actionable controls, collaborating with product, data, and engineering teams.
• Own a focal area to proactively hunt emerging typologies and present trend analysis to FinCrime leadership.

Required profile

• 3+ years of end‑to‑end fraud, AML or corporate investigation experience.
• Expertise in fraud principles, complex criminal typologies and OSINT techniques.
• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to navigate data analytics tools.
• Proven leadership and mentorship capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for senior stakeholders.
• Proactive curiosity to identify invisible risk and close systemic gaps.
• Resilience under pressure and high‑integrity judgment.
