Financial Accountant – Startup (Luxembourg)

About the role

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join a fast‑growing international tech start‑up based in Luxembourg. The role offers a hands‑on, end‑to‑end accounting experience, with direct interaction with senior stakeholders and the opportunity to shape finance processes in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full invoicing cycle, from issuance to cash collection.
• Reconcile bank accounts, invoices and expenses to ensure data accuracy.
• Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on overdue payments and resolve payment issues.
• Process supplier payments, expenses and overall financial flows.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual closings with external partners.
• Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and support tax‑related activities.
• Prepare and analyse monthly management reports and track performance against budgets.
• Document, structure and continuously improve finance processes, identifying automation opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• At least 1 year of accounting or finance operations experience, preferably in a start‑up.
• Knowledge of Luxembourg GAAP (Lux GAAP) and strong analytical/reconciliation skills.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail and ability to work autonomously.
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Lux GAAP accounting principles.
• Experience with Odoo or a similar ERP system.
