Experienced Finance Controller

About the role

We are seeking an Experienced Finance Controller to join a leading Luxembourg‑based insurance group. Reporting to the CFO, you will oversee month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing activities, ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and support strategic financial decisions across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze general ledger accounts, perform journal entries, reconciliations, accruals and closing procedures on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Prepare and present detailed variance analyses for financial and performance reports to the CFO.
• Participate actively in the monthly, quarterly and year‑end closing cycles.
• Assist in the preparation of internal and external reports, including regulator and statistical submissions.
• Lead the annual forecasting and budgeting process.
• Support integration of newly acquired portfolios and coordinate with outsourced accounting providers.
• Prepare Board of Directors packs and facilitate audit activities.
• Drive process‑improvement initiatives and maintain high standards of data quality and integrity.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a finance controller or similar role.
• Background in external audit or finance/accounting reporting; insurance or financial services experience is a plus.
• Fluent in English with a good level of French.
• Strong ethical standards, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Dynamics.
